The ferry has been in operation since 1827 and travels from the foot of Canal Street to Algiers on the West Bank. One dollar gets you on board, and across the Mississippi River. Admire over fifty sculptures that reside in what is considered to be one of the most significant sculpture installations in the nation, the Sydney & Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden. The garden is part of the New Orleans Museum of Art and many of the pieces featured have been donated to the museum. Master sculptors of the 20th century like Antoine Bourdelle, Henry Moore, Jacques Lipchitz, and Louise Bourgeois have works featured in the garden.
